Keelson’s DP CPD is The Nautical Institute accredited program that is differentiated for role and rank onboard as defined by IMCA M117 and MTS PDDP2. This means that a DP master will get a different set of questions than a chief engineer, and a harder set of questions than a DPO.  

Uniquely we start with a base line assessment. We do not push everyone through the same learning materials regardless of your knowledge, training, or experience. This is how it works: 

1.     You take a base line assessment. We issue you a personalised report indicating areas of strength and weakness and guide you to the exact section in the industry documents where you need a refresher. Everyone is different.  

2.     You then take some time to review your knowledge and understanding in the subjects that you may have forgotten. We give you a free pdf text book and a free app with links to the industry documents to help you with this. 

3.     After a few hours of study over several weeks you then take the assessment again (with slightly different questions in the same areas of knowledge). We then issue a final report showing how much you have improved. This report indicates any areas of improvement that you can work on over the year ahead before enrolling on the program again next year. Pure CPD! 

4.     Once you have demonstrated an improvement in your knowledge and understanding we issue your Nautical Institute accredited DP CPD certificate which is valid for one year of CPD for DPO or DPVM revalidation and is automatically uploaded to your Alexis account to make revalidation easy for you. 

The whole DP CPD cycle takes eight weeks. The process is simple - the learning is real!
